Bertrand Schmitt is a French/Australian Master Trainer Personal Trainer certificate IV, and Fitness Leader Certificate III .

- UKK Walk Tester (the UKK Walk Test was developed especially to assess cardiovascular fitness by measuring its gold standard, maximal aerobic power-VO2 max)

Bertrand has also his St John's First Aid Certificate II, is CPR certified and is insured for Public Liability and Professional Indemnity. Personal training requires knowledge and skills in the areas of motivation, lifestyle analysis, goal setting, planning, fitness, nutrition and stress management.

Strength Training started to be his passion in 1989 in France and today Bertrand is keeping his knowledges up to date with the latest scientific research in order to deliver the best service possible. He is specialising in fat loss, muscle tone, body building, specific sporting goals and rehabilitation.

Sky-diving, Hang-gliding, Karate and photography are some of his hobbies (Bertrand was a walker and the official photographer in the Melbourne to Brisbane Pole Walkabout for kids ). Kitesurfing is also another sport that he loves.

Corinne Aubineau, Brisbane : " In March 2002 I had an experience that frightened me, I weighed myself………. answer 100kg. I am approx. 165 cm tall and when I went for my staff medical exam the Doctor uttered the worst words I have ever heard. You are obese and I could fail the medical. After the scare and fear subsided I knew I had to do something, but what. I had never believed in any fancy quick fix. In my younger days I had been a champion Roller Skater with a training/teaching program that had me exercising for a minimum of 1 hour everyday. A serious spinal injury had seen me give my skating away many years before. So I was now 33 years old, 100kg and not having any exercise program. I contacted Bertrand for assistance. Bertrand listened to my ideas, fears and what was at the time a busy work schedule. After a comprehensive analysis of my current physical condition and fitness level (along with the limitations of my injury) Bertrand was able to show me a plan that would accomplish various things, such as:

1. Educate me into eating right, understanding the value of what I put into my mouth. This education is still ongoing but will last a lifetime.

2. Create an exercise program that fitted into my busy work schedule. The program was portable so that when I was interstate I could still do some exercise.

3. Modify my exercise routine around the limitations of my injuries.

4. It was flexible, I fell off the wagon many times, but I could see the value in trying again.

5. Motivation. Through his "Fit Tips" e-mails and newsletters. Since March 2002 I have lost 10 kg. I cannot express in word how excited I was. The food and exercise diary, watching how much and what I eat combined with movement and Bertrand's encouragement are making a significant change in my way of thinking an how I see myself.

Roland Franz, Mermaid. 18th April 2003. " My name is Roland Franz. I am 36 years old. I have been training with Bertrand for the past 6 months. During the first 4 months of the program, I lost 13Kg, 8 cm from my waist, increased my muscle mass and decreased my Body Fat from 29% to 21% and I feel great!

The oddity with my previous experiences is that I have found it comparatively easy to get the results this time around - thanks to Bertrand and his continually updated guidance, motivation and encouragement.

One of the best things that I have learnt from Bertrand, is that I am never going to be on another "self destructive" diet or eating regime. I have learnt to make "healthier choices" which has led to a "Lifestyle" change. I used to think that I knew a little about exercise. But now I realize that what I thought I knew - was "all wrong"! I would exercise daily, sometimes for up to 2 hours in the Gym, 4 - 6 days a week. Bertrand has shown me that most of the exercises that I did, isolating the muscle, were not that effective and that I was working out too much, over training, which was counter productive. Now, I focus on compound exercises working muscle groups, only work out twice a week for about 40 minutes and do a 30 - 45 minute aerobic session, 2 - 4 times a week. My focus is not on loosing weight - but loosing Fat!

So, if you are serious about getting the results you desire and want to get them "Smarter and faster" rather than harder, then I definitely recommend that your ask Bertrand to assist you. He doesn't thrust his ideas down your throat. He is very encouraging, motivating, supportive and a guiding light to your desired results. Bertrands' weekly Fit tips via the Email and regular newsletters are an invaluable source of information, understanding and motivation. Best of all, I now understand why "more isn't necessarily better". It is obvious to me, that quality far outweighs quantity and Bertrands' guidance is 100% quality.

I would personally like to thank Norm Lowe, who referred me to Bertrand in the first place. It has been a "Life-changing" experience for the better!

Claire Watson, Curumbin: " Today the 30 of January 2005 I was given great news! I have been training with Bertrand (fitness genius) since the beginning of January. When I started with Bertrand I had a body composition test done. Today was my second body composition test and the results were fantastic.

Using his clever machine we found that through our combined efforts I had actually lost 1.5kg of fat! That’s a small lamb roast! I had gained 1.2kg of muscle and we also took measurements to record the change in my actual size and I had lost centimetres! I was hoping I would have lost at least 1% of body fat because Bertrand told me 2% was probably the most I could lose sensibly in one month. I lost 1.8% body fat! The best part about this is being able to accurately measure my progress. Having this test done has not only encouraged me to keep going but to try even harder. It makes me realise that my goals are achievable.
